Family Therapy

Since 1991, Knockanrawley has been serving the needs of individuals, couples and families who are experiencing distress in important areas of their lives. Psychotherapy and Family Therapy provide opportunities to individuals, couples and families seeking solutions to present life difficulties through exploring, clarifying and rediscovering within themselves and their relationships more resourceful ways of coping.

Common problems include:

  • Abuse (sexual, emotional, physical)
  • Anxiety
  • Alcohol and drug misuse
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Chronic pain
  • Communication difficulties
  • Depression
  • Difficulties with relationships
  • Domestic violence
  • Eating disorders
  • Gambling problems
  • Marital separation
  • Panic attacks
  • Parenting difficulties
  • Phobias
  • Post-traumatic stress
  • Work-related stress

All the above problems can be resolved through the following kinds of therapy.

We have two Family Therapists ( one of whom is also a clinical psychologist), and a Psychotherapist, all of whom work part time.
The main funders for our Family Therapy and Counselling Centre are The Family Support Agency and the HSE South.
