KRC is active in promoting community education at policy level where possible. We are members of Aontas, the National Adult Learning Organisation and the Community Education Network. Locally, we work closely with FÁS, County Tipperary Education and Training Board (formerly VEC), the RAPID programme etc. and in a local education stakeholders network which brings together all agencies involved in education from the cradle onwards.
We support local residents groups to participate in local decision making bodies such as RAPID, and to engage and lobby other local bodies such as the Town Council, Gardai, etc.
We also work closely with the County Childcare Committee, HSE, DSP, County Council, Children’s Services Committee, SIM (Social Inclusion Measures Group), and other local community and voluntary groups.
We have completed a partnership under the Equality for Women Measure with the Three Drives Family Resource Centre and Tipperary Regional Youth Service. At European level, we have been involved in a number of Grundtvig partnerships looking at innovative ways to engage and sustain disadvantaged learners in education.
